For many years my headphones have needed a place to be stored at my desk when they are not in use. Half the time they end of on the floor, or buried under paperwork. Recently I gained access to a metal laser cutter and decided I was going to solve my headphone dilemma once and for all!
Combining the curves that a laser cutter can produce in the stainless steel with the deep rich colors of black walnut, this headphone stand can not only be functional but provide a interesting piece to any desk or audio station. 
Producing these headphone stands stands starts by taking the rough stainless steel spines and deburring, sanding and polishing. This gives the stainless steel a nice matte texture thats easy to keep clean with a modern look. The base and headphone hanger are then custom fit to each stainless steel spine with brass pins. Brass was chosen as the best way to secure the spine to the base as it securely pins all the parts together with minimal glue, meaning that it will last for many years! From there all the edges are sanded, finished with a hard wax oil and buffed to a soft sheen. Felt pads are added to the bottom to ensure that it will remain securely planed on your desk.
